The Apprentice

In September 2008 we were approached by the production team of ThamesTalk the makers of The Apprentice with Sir Alan Sugar, they had short listed Nelson Park as a possible location for the filming of an episode.  We were happy to agree to allowing them to film here and we awaited further phone calls.

When we were contacted the only people allowed to know what was going on was Graham and Sarah, even the production team who were in contact via phone with us were not allowed to actually tell us what the filming would be for !

In October we got the call from Ben one of the 2009 candidates, he wanted to visit us on the Saturday to see if they thought the location was suitable for their task set by Sir Alan Sugar, the production team arrived together with Ben and Lorraine and they interviewed us at the top of the yard, some of you may remember the camera's all over the place during the afternoon.

On the Sunday we got the call from Ben that we had been expecting, "Good Morning Graham, this is Ben from Ignite, we would like to come back and do the photo shoot this morning", they were on their way !  15 Minutes later they arrived with a full photographic team, full set of models and film crew, Ben and Lorraine and of course one of Sir Alan's advisers Margaret Mountford.

They were all taken through the necessary information and rules to riding a pony and Pickles was chosen to be the star of our bit

Whilst we weren't lucky enough to get much of our part in the proceedings shown on television "pickles" was featured at the presentation to the tourist specialists in Margate on one of the posters.  We did however get seen on the "You've been fired" show on BBC2 on the same night.

Our thanks to ThamesTalk for allowing us to be part of an exceptional show !

One of the posters used in the presentation was ours with Pickles being lead by the model family.
